Tote places July ....

Early indications are that you must be totally braindead to take tote places on the July tomorrow despite the 6 places .....

I wondered when this issue was going to surface!

Simple aritmetic suggests that you cannot deduct approximately 18% from a gross pool and then divide the balance amongst six winners without turning almost every 'dividend' into an odds on number.

My suggestion to Saftote for next year is this : Offer a 'winning' ( sic ) bet to everyone by simply deducting 18% from the pool and thereafter refunding everyone's money minus the deduction.

My mind boggles at the kind of brain power 'leading' this industry. Thank heavens I turned in my colours and left these clowns to their own devices.

Rubbish bet - send the punters straight to the bookies.

Surely they are ''misleading the public'' and are in breach of the new consumer act....??

Hi guys

this was covered in a couple TT inserts.Tax on the place pool for this race only will be reduced.
Interesting though was the comments that if theres less than 18 runners,there will be 4 place payouts.Guess then its back to normal tax.

We have plenty posts on this subject and can't see it being viable?
