Congrats to jockey B Jacobson,1st ride in the BIG race.
DWTD might find the short firm run in a disadvantage,so can get rolled.Or G Lerena will have a Birthday to remember!
The Shark,Ibrox Park,Jeppies Reef,August Rush, the 'jewel' & Mr Black Tom(owner double).

Rio Carnival to topple Gimmethegreenlight .
Fort Vogue and Another Giant to win.
Bulsara in the big one and Beaches to give Dancewiththedevil a good hiding, well its the big one and we all allowed to dream.

Ok so I have not posted too much in the last while. Work and life keeping me busy. I figure it's time to break the silence and give you my opinions......
Race 1: Very, very competitive race. I'll give you a few names but nothing certain. August rush, Foreign Sovereign (big weight for a 3 year old), Tetelestai and Mr. Mickey Mouse.
Race 2: improving Juveniles over a distance none of them have run. Those Australian horses are pretty precocious so I would be weary of Ransom of Choice even though he has good form. For me Noble Legend is the improver in the race. He is going to LOVE this trip and his educational run over the course was pretty good considering half of his opponents are today running in the big juvenile feature! Danger obviously is RoC and perhaps Leo Rapax. For me de Kock and Delpech get off the mark here.
Race 3: One of the weakest consolations I have seen in a while. Fort Vogue should win with only Illsaintpietro and Danish Silver the dangers. Can't see anything else winning.
Race 4: This is a field race. Hardest race on the card for me. I like Golden Parachute on the weight turnaround with Two Strikes (run behind M'lords Throat). Put as many as you can!
Race 5: Princess Victoria is BEATABLE!!! Wide draw, going for 4 in a row (Magi) and going around a turn for the first time. Not for me. If she wins, good luck to the owners as they have a really nice filly. I like Up Front, Amanee, She's a Stunner and Extra Zero as a sneaker. Amanee will benefit from a strong pace.......and I'm pretty sure you will get a strong pace here!
Race 6: It's Gimmethegreenlight or at least 8 others. Hard race if you don't like the favorite! Perhaps Mushreq would be the biggest improver?
Race 7: The big one. well enough has been said about this race. For me it comes down to two issues. Are the 3 year old colts good enough? Also is Igugu good enough to beat everyone else as a 3 year old filly carrying 55kg's? For me the answer to both above questions are NO! I like the 4 year olds to do well with only English Garden to make his presence felt for the 3 year old colts. Igugu could find a place but that would make me a believer. She is then up there with the best fillies to have raced in this country! Proof is in the pudding! Pierre Jourdan has the draw and jock and Bravura is very classy. Go Pierre Jourdan. Has been my favorite since its debut. Never thought he was going to make the July this year so not only is he my pick , he is my sentimental pick too. (I can't pick a winner on form, might as well go with sentiment
)
Race 8: Elusive River has to go close on his 2nd to Solo Traveler, Legal Account great last run, Brown Penny has a shout and DON'T leave out Titano. He is better than rated!
Race 9: Two horse race. Enchanted kingdom and Control Tower. The latter for me at 8/1!
Race 10: It's all about the pace here. Even though Fragrant Al likes to dictate, she is not a tearaway. DWTD needs a solid pace so that her turn of foot can be telling. She is the best horse in the race by a country mile but Greyville might find her out? I don't know who could beat her. Probably Beach Beauty as she has won at Greyville before but DWTD is still my marginal first choice.
Race 11: I like Phantom Fighter and all the best to hotline with The Shark!
Race 12: I like Stellar Season but not with Beyleveld riding. If he doesn't ride I may take my chances. Otherwise Queen Tamara might be right there. Candy tuft better over 1000m, same with West End and Ibrox Park.
Happy punting and hope we have a great day!!!!

Good Morning All
So the big day is finally here!!! Here goes my fancies - August Rush, Saluki, Cask, Happy Archer and in the Big one I think Lion in Winter will be giving a good account of himself. They are all runners from last year and I think they'll run well again. Watch out for those orange colours! Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. Exciting day ahead with the racing. Also, go STORMERS!
Was very disappointed last night. Have had a very busy week business wise so have been unable to pay any attention to the racing. Was hoping to watch some panel discussions etc on Tellytrack last night... Nothing, nada, FA. Instead we get re-runs and foreign racing with minor pools (which I don't back). So, instead of getting the broad public into the swing of things for today, minor profits are chased. Surely this will cost them.
My choices for today are Bravura (would be great if Marcus Jooste could win) & DWTD. Lion in Winter to place.
Enjoy.
