Aye, Scotia, I saw you in the parade ring and thought of calling to you but you had about a dozen people round you and I also had mother, father, both brothers, niece and niece's boyfriend (whom I had never met) so it was just too complexicated. I didn't think it fair to inflict so many strangers on each other all at once.
However we had a good day otherwise and a lot of fun, and the Sunday buffet lunch at the Casino (this is for the rest of you who may go to Scottsville) isn't at all bad. They could keep their food warmer but the quality is fine, the choice good, and the queues are not too long. The price is a steal according to my brother who is coming from America and couldn't credit paying R85 a head plus total drinks bill of R110 for seven people (not all of whom drink alcohol I must admit). Nice view down onto the finishing post too if you can get a seat near the window.
