Scottsville Sunday - early call
13 years 10 months ago
Guys, I'm taking several members of my (non-racing) family to Scottsville on Sunday ... introduce them to the Great Game ... that is, assuming we finish Sunday lunch at the casino in time to take in a few races. Anyone have a few good tips for me? I don't want to appear a total wuss. Ta muchly!

Mav, maybe a pa for them, especially if they newcomers, cheapie bet that can keep them entertained for 7 races .... Each of them can spend 100 bucks on one and hopefully it rolls over to the last.

Hi Mav we are staying 3 mins from track went to have a look today and it looks great.
I am not a casino man but popped in took one call bet 29 and the neighbours and 29 came up, went for lunch and on the way out went back to same table called the same bet and 22 came up, so over the moon and enjoyed the visit!
We will be at the track and hope Miss Diana wins, but please come and join us for a drink, not sure if I can give you tips but will be with a couple of trainers.

At the expense of having "egg on my face" I will attempt to give you a few pointers.
In all fairness , I think this is a nice card, but being Scottsville, I will not be surprised.
Race 1. I think Marcus will open the first with The Last Samurai from 16x4x3. Check if any money for Dansili Express.
Race 2. A race in three . my preference in order 2 x 15 x 1
Race 3. Red Revenge - should take a power of beating.
Race 4. Always Al - should take a power of beating. Only lively danger is Slipstream.
Race 5. Offertorium - should take a power of beating. x 6 x 2 x 4
Race 6. An open race - Miss D and Viking Lizzy. Don't know anything about Hunt the Jester, will check with Duncs in the morning.
Race 7. Arabian Empire should win this race. For me Hold The Gold is the danger. The booking of Delpech on A king Is Born concerns me
Race 8. Not cut and dry. I think Gibson Girl can win this one. Reconcile and Stella Mia the obvious dangers. Bourbon Rose will relish the extra so include in bets.
Race 9. Sovereign Sound looks like the right one. I would include in my P6 2x3x7x8x10 as well.
All the best and I hope the above will be helpful.
PS_ a small PA 16 x 1 x 1 x 1/3/6 x 3 x 1/4 x 3/4/7 R18.00 take it multiple times./

Thanks Frank.
Greg - you are right about Assessment. Not sure will win though.
I have various multiples outstanding for tomorrow . these were from Mauritius, and Turffies today.
so any of Red Revenge, Always Al, Offertorium, Arabian Empire, Gibson Girl , Miss D( to place). If all arrives FcuuuuuuuuuuK.
This is Scottsville , the party might be spoiled.
