Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula is convinced he can get Zuma to change his mind and let SA bid for the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics..

All we keep hearing about in these bids are Legacy for the countries but imo in reality these countries never recover from the Debt that these ego stroking events bring to the countries that host them..

what do you guys say?

I say, let someone else have the Olympics. Sydney is one exception, but most citiies that have hosted the Olympics have been riddled with debt for years afterwards. Montreal (1976) is a classic example. I bet a lot of Parisians said merci beaucoup when they lost the 2012 games to London. :D
