Great Value on the TOTE -rollup get your Value

its about time 2c got off his backside and did presenters job in studio and more on course previews ..he is the best of a poor bunch(tu)

As I have said before,this is surely all about the take-out,which is why it applies to some totes (countries) more than others.
It would be interesting to compare take-outs between the various countries.
The gross pool is reduced and the value is dependant on what is left for distribution and corporatisation has created a new "return to shareholders"
It would also be interesting to know whether additional commissions are paid to co-mingling agents,overseas.
We saw that in the "6 place July payout" takeouts are adjustable/changeable
The concern is that the percieved solution is for bookmakers to contribute more(which equals bookmakers clients contribute more).....as no doubt the effect will be passed on,but that won't save the tote, but further destroy horserace punting.
IF THE RAKE ON POKER HANDS WAS THE SAME AS THE TOTE TAKEOUT,POKER WOULD DIE.
The answer is to improve the value on the tote not reduce the value on the books!!!!
(BTW ,the value is no less for favourites than outsiders,it is merely more evident.)

A part of the solution is the necessity for all distribution of the tote to be recycled into the game as are payouts,stakes etc.......what slice leaves entirely? shareholders dividends!

While on holiday in USA quite a few years I read an article about a racecourse that was trying to find a way of boosting their turnover as they were finding things getting tough eg. SA. . They made a decision that seemed unlikely to succeed. THEY REDUCED THE PERCENTAGE TAKEOUT. Their turnover rose dramatically. They were happy and so were the punters.
