Theres never any racing there anymore..its a joke..talk about owning a horse that runs 4 times a year!!

I would suggest Cape Trainers get boxes if at all possible anywhere else in the country just so that owners can have runners

Look at the set out meetings programmed for a year....if its 86 then we race 86 meetings in 52 weeks....so we cant race twice a week every week.....this month is traditionally the rainy month where the Cape loses meetings so when the programme comes out that is taken into account ,but this year no real rain so far and thus no cancelled meetings.

But besides PE AND Kimberly the three major racing centres always had 2 race meetings a week..wednesday and Saturday..how can you have 11 days between meetings with no cancellations..pathetic..owners paying to go look at their horses in the box..bulldust!

So WC only races 43 weeks a year. 2 months a year no racing.

Do the horses still get shod and all while they on hols or do they go the farm for a rest as well.

Exactly Sylvester..something bad is going on there thats for sure..obviously we not in the know as usual..but if I had a horse in training there right now it would unfortunately be on the move. I dont care hoe wealthy the owners are down there, with those lower stakes and this lack of racing sonner than later something will crack.

Durban has just finished their season and we can't race on the same day as them....you must look at the overall programme in SA...you cannot single out a region.Bottom line we have the same amount of meetings in CT as last year.....just bigger gaps between meetings and clearly explained as to why?
We all want to race twice a week but that is just not a reality.

Oscar have got to agree with you,Cape Town racing going through a rough time,i have had the experience of having horses down their, and firstly the stakes are pathetic, secondly not enough races for your horses, and thirdly when you do find a race and the fields shrink on that specific race,so do your stake cheques reduce, depending on how many runners took part.Cannot see how the patrons can carry on down in the Cape, just my opinion.
