I went a couple of months ago to the post office to buy a postal order for R100 ... to pay a speeding fine ... postal order to be addressed to "Clerk of the Court" ... but no, they first wanted proof of residence.

Were they thinking I was money-laundering ... R100, LOL! Perhaps the Clerk of the Court and I were in cahoots, what do you think? Oh, and the letter I showed them from the office of the block of flats where I live wasn't good enough, I must go stand in a 10-mile queue at the Umtata municipality and get a "proper" proof of residence. Of course I would have to do that every 3 months for it to remain valid.

Next time, I just won't bother to pay any traffic fines.
