Just one more thing - seeing there is a 'support team' of about 18 'support staff' already travelling with the players, I think it would not have been the worst decision to include Smit as 'non-playing' captain - however I'm not sure if he would have been willing to do that.

pirates maybe you right, who knows but iam sure winning the wc would be the pinnacle for bakkies...
