What does SSL mean?

I see this behind the names of some horses on the racecard like "How do you like me now (SSL)". Any ideas? I feel like a newbie here.

Horses that are bred in the Southern Hemisphere. Usually happens when stallions are shuttled from one hemisphere to another for breeding. Or the broodmare goes specifically to the stallion in one hemisphere and returns back home. I think Mina Salaam could be an example.

For example a 2yo debuting in the UK next May,will be roughly six months younger than the 2yo running and bred in SA at the same time

What about a mare going to a stallion in the northern hemisphere, but bred to Southern Hemisphere times. Would this show as SSL? Or just the initials of the country it is born in? And technically, a mare is covered in September (Southern Time) in the Northern Hemisphere, and comes to RSA to foal down. What do those initials show as?

It will be SNL, sired north of the line.
