Scotia almost there "60"
13 years 7 months ago
Good morning Clan and the big news is that I only have to wake up tomorrow morning to make the big "60".
After my trip to Scotland and medical reports the bookies were going evens that I would not make the end of October but after a few trips to the gym I am hoping to be collecting.
Henry Cecil looking forward to the
Champion Stakes with both Midday and Twice Over
Plus what a days racing before the party, we have the long awaited return of Ebony Flyer in the Cape and Frankel at Ascot.
At Ascot we have the Champion Stakes and this has the makings of a great race with So You Think, Snow Fairy, Nathaniel, Twice Over, Midday, Dubai Prince all with chances but my selection is Cirrus Des Aigles.
The star of the show will again be Frankel to win the Queen Elizabeth 11 Stakes (so a bit evens Ebony and Frankel).
I notice Born to Sea is 10/1 for the 2000 gns and 16/1 for the Derby, would that not be something special, but that is long term planning and maybe not clever for the old man.
In Australia the Cox plate is next Sat 22nd and Helmet and Jimmy Choux are 7/2 joint favs and as far as the big one on the 1st of Nov. I see Americain has shortened from 14/1 to 10/1, so someone reads the site lol.
The Queens Plate race day should be awesome will have to contact the Snaith's to find out what is planned but sure to be a cracker with stunning fillies the order of the day.
The rugby has lost a bit sparkle if you live in Pretoria however should be another couple of hard fought clashes this weekend, the best prices are 7/10 All Blacks, 5/1 Aussies, 11/2 Wales and 8/1 French.
On the football scene Man U 11/10 for the EPL with Man City 3/1 and Chelsea 7/2 and at this early stage only 3 other teams Pool, Spurs and Arsenal are under 100/1 and the balance on 1000/1 (come on my wee Geordies)
This weeks highlights on the site
Richard Hughes
Whip abuse.
Igugu Dodging Ebony Flyer?
Handicappers
The end of this month also will see the end of 2 contracts in the motor industry and considering I have been in manufacturing for over 40 years maybe a change is in order? but did have a look at the Sunday Times for vacancies with my original trade and could find nothing for Zeppelin repair men.
Have a great weekend and may your God be with you
Good punting!

Happy birthday Dave - sure you'll have a couple of glasses of Blanc de Noir followed no doubt by a couple of Johnny Walkers. Enjoy and have a very, very special birthday tomorrow.
