Rookie Mauritian Trainer to launch an assault on the trainers title next season

I had the pleasure of meeting rookie mauritian trainer Paul fu Kong in Umhlanga this week and had a nice little chat about mauritian racing and his plans to win the mauritian title next season. Paul is currently in his first season as a licensed trainer and is the sort of St John Gray of mauritius owning, training the thirty horses he currently has in his yard.

Well Paul has put his money were his mouth is and acquired some really nice south african horse flesh in Elusive River, Adeste Fidelis, Liam , Esteco ( will be prepared for the maiden cup) Paraguyito and Mr Black Tom ( Mr/s Mcdonald have retained a share and Mr Black Tom will run in their colours) and a few other horses plus will be looking at some babies from the R2R sale.

I wish Paul all the best and to you island racing fans jot some of these names down for next season.
Paul is also looking for a south african jock and I suggested Sean Veale or Muzi Yeni so hopefully one of those young bucks get a call up!

Just another snippet from the word on the ground - champion mauritian horse Disa Leader will join Team DeKock and race in the Dubai carnival

Mr Brock did the island proud last season, lets hope Disa Leader does the same...(tu)

The owners were even considering sending him back to SA and have a crack at a few features but eventually chose Dubai!

Muzi was keen to go over and reunite with Esteco in the Maiden Cup a prob would be the license payment which I believe is quite hefty

Not sure what's the cost titch but michel nairac was his host and I've spoken to him about muzi, he also said nme he hears a lot about muzi! He calls muzi a Glory Rider ( a jock that will even fight for fourth place) so go ahead and contact Paul cos the opening is there!

BC I did speak to Michel nairac regarding Muzi riding there some time ago but would really appreciate if you could put me in touch with paul if possible
