Listen guys, give Dumpie his due. I would like to see how Alistair Cohen and the lad from KZN deals with 20 horse fields over 1000m's. Listen to Craig Peters call a race over 1000m's and see if he gets through the entire field just once... and that is with 10 or 12 horses. Also the last 400m's only the front 2 are called with the occassional 3rd horse.....

In all honesty, i have no idea how the course is or how the view is from where Dumpie sits/stands, but he misses the fast finishing horses on the stand side most of the time......but just thinking about this, it has to be a very difficult job to do.

With about 400 to go in the big race he call " and PADDY O REILLY has come right through the field " Have another look he was lying third or fourth last. he keeps us chuckling or gives us heart failure.

Smiley Moosa is still my favourite commentator, I also liked Chainsaws commentaries, he always added a bit of humour in it!
I grew up listening to guys like Graham Hawkins , Eric Denman, Smiley Moosa , Craig Peters

Imo some of them are a joke. A horse wins by a neck and they call "photo". Always kicking for touch
