BBC report
Former Pakistan cricket captain Salman Butt has been jailed for 30 months for his part in the conspiracy to bowl deliberate no-balls in last year's Test match against England.
Former world number two Test bowler Mohammad Asif, 28, was jailed for one year and bowler Mohammad Amir, 19, has been sentenced to six months.
Cricket agent Mazhar Majeed was jailed for two years and eight months.
Wow,the agent got the longest jail term. Well done to the journalist who uncovered these crooks.

Good to see an example being made. Cricketers will think twice now with jail sentances being handed out. Well done to journo's and authorities. (tu)

should have been done a long time ago, and the illegal/legal bookies who are approaching our sportsmen and playing a huge role in corrupting the sport need to be dealt with severly, like murderers..it is a severe crime.

At least cricket regards it as a crime!!!!!!!.....the only jail sentence related to local racing was for the bloke that shot Sea Cottage, over 30 years ago.
Aren't we lucky that racing doesn't need deterrents to be squeaky clean.

A former Essex county cricketer has admitted a corruption charge over spot fixing relating to a 40-over one-day game against Durham.
Mervyn Westfield, 23, admitted accepting or obtaining a corrupt payment to aid betting at a game on 5 September 2009.
The Old Bailey heard he had agreed to bowl his first over in a way that would let Durham score a set number of runs.
Westfield was warned he could face jail when he is sentenced in February.
The offence carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
He was granted unconditional bail until sentencing on 10 February.
A separate charge of assisting another person to cheat at gambling was ordered to lie on file.
