There is definitely a tote and bookie in Tweni (about 10 mins past Hibberdene). My folks live just after Hibberdene in Umzumbe so I went the one day and it was really good. Had a solid pub grub and a few beers. However, that was some 5/6 years ago so I am not totally sure if they are still running. I will ask my Dad to get in touch with the local chaps and find out. Will try get back to you by the end of today.

Also if you drive into Sheppie and you go on the old road to Margate there is a bookie and tote at Shelley centre (about 6km outside Sheppie). Been there a few times.

Super, your best bet would be to drive to Shelley Beach (twenty minute drive from Hibberdene), and in Shelley centre there is a tote and bookie.
I am not sure about tote/bookie in Tweni (not heard of); there is a tote/bookie in Sheppie, but its a HOLE. Not worth it, you'll change your mind about taking a bet in there.

I have been to Shelly Beach a number of times and if you want to watch racing, want a tote or bookie bet, enjoy a drink and a/or snack then it's very pleasant. If you don't want any of that, then obviously it's a waste of time.
What upset you about the place Andy?

(your problem Super Red is that its a fair distance from Hibberdene, particularly if you enjoy a booze.....dangerous place for roadblocks ,that part of the coast)

I enjoy the Shelly Beach one too. They have a tattersalls there who don't always give great odds though, but the tote is fine.

I have enjoyed the Shelley Bookmaker and tote too. I remember when he operated in Margate many years ago up a side road by the butchery. Was there when London News won the July, was 19 then and had one of my biggest wins at that stage.

Bookies name in Shelly Beach is Clive - Good guy. They have done a lot to upgrade the facilities.

The facility in Port Shepstone is a bit run down. I see that they now have a Marshalls in that premises and this may have come with an upgrade.
Rob is 100% on the road block issue. It has been rumored that our area purchases the most Breathalyser pipes in SA. (Not joking). They also have a different bail system for out of town folk.

Safest bet is to download mobile functionality Interbet mobile and the like. If you have a smart phone such as an Iphone or Samsung Galaxy etc you can use the full websites just as well.
