Why? I'd call it constructive- You paid for something and had a bad experience - I bet you Vee will think twice about doing the same thing again - You actually helped some other person from suffering a similar fate - My question is why was this not sorted out on the day? Because you were unimportant on the day but now that you've complained in public you are important enough for an afternoon apology -

russelldewee you have said some things & i know you dont owe me any explanation but in respect of what transpired i have some questions for you.

You said 1-you will never set foot at that course again.2-you used the word favouritism which was obviously present.3-you said this will make the papers doesnt matter what he said.4-you said there is no excuse for what happened.5-you said vee moodley made a mistake which is evident and went on to say it was unintentional.how was this unintentional if his table booking was changed and replaced with yours?

he only apologised because of this thread and it possibly going to the papers.

..at the end you end up apologising.im still trying to grasp why?yes,you were upset and had a right to be but ended up doing a u-turn.

people should be held accountable for what happened or in this case more like what didnt happened.

the fact is you paid for a service for which you never received the true value of it!

Everybody has a right to get pissed off and then make a you turn. Mr M is obviously a good PR man and whatever he said changed Russel's view on the whole episode. We all have a right to change our minds or views on things.

I bet the next table he books, service will go from 1 star to 4, now that they know who he is by face.

they say in life ...the one who suceeds,is the one that can take a bad situation and turn it into a good one...and the art of doing this...is that u do not carry monkeys on your back...and also shed excess baggage...,russelldewee,i commend u in your u turn...because like someone said at the very least....your face is now known and yes your next table might be a 4 star one....good on you....and also good on u...to bring this to our attention....because ...i dont think mr moodley and co.,might even try something like this in the future...so at the very least..thats a plus...and 1 more thing u r right in saying the reflection of ones character is how to be diplomatic and move on...mission accomplished

I must say Al,that I think I get your drift because I think I had the same thoughts about both the posts you mention.
Sometimes it is interesting to let a thread completely unfold and get a better balanced perspective.

sometimes expensive (costly), others even fatal.

However, most mistakes are reversible with a simple apology and restitution / correction (like giving us back Germiston and Newmarket??? Lol!).

Professionals make far more mistakes than us simpletons!

I believe the apology should have come direct from Phumelela Russell, it was the person in charge who allowed Vee Moodley to change Tables and that imho is where the problem arose, surely if everyone has booked and paid and has a Table setting it would be done in the manner that fits everyone in comfortably, so any attempt to change your Table to what you regard as a better placed Table should have been knocked on the head, without prejudice by the people running the event.
I also took exception to Vee Moodley's comments on Mike Azzie's Horse Patala Palace, "If this Horse wins we will make sure it is severely penalised" or words to that effect, maybe Mr Moodley is becoming a tad too big for his boots, he may be a very good handicapper, but he appears to be losing touch on the humanitarian side

We are all punters,most study form and some(like me) have more years of experience than we care to remember,but using that,and knowing no more than has been posted on this thread let me have a "virtual" bet.
I will bet a party of "P" VIP guests turned up with 2 additional,uninvited guests in the party,and expected to be accomodated....this thread is the rest of the story.......lol

Just because Vee Moodley gets paid to do what he does or does not do, It does not make him a professional at all,
he is merely just one of many know all blow all's.

He pulled rank on the day and overstepped a paying customer, no business can afford such publicity and good on you Russell for standing up after you were belittled.

It is no wonder that customer service is non existant as people are lead by example. And if this is an example of what Phumelela high profile management do in the public eye, then shame on them.
