gb...i also think that biasca was sent up specifically for the sand...if it doesnt show today..it would pay to follow this one for the near future on sand

More of the same today on the Vaal sand; thoughts:

R1: Not much between London Vault and Jumbo on a line through Baker's Dozen - both drawn wide though. Roll Call comes out of a very weak race, but maybe could improve with the blinkers back on - the 1 draw has thrown up a much higher percentage of winners than any other over this 1200, so perhaps include Maximum Activity (first run on the sand) in swingers - not easy
R2: Imani has most of the others held and has the speed to overcome a wide draw imo - definite PA inclusion. Sakkie Sakkie lost ground at the start last time, so there may not be much between her and Imani and goes into my PA as well - I think it's too far for Beloved Jean, but there seems to be very few other realistic runners with chances, so she may place - watch out for Zanzi, she may have had excuses in her last start and certainly could feature in this field on her run behind Neil's Mission - and she has a Xmas jock in the irons (:P)
R3: Follow the Piper the obvious one - lots of money for Onehundredacrewood, but I need to see her perform on the surface first - biggest danger to FtP imo is Raise the Bar who has won twice over this trip and probably needed her last start - also has the stable jock riding. Ugly Betty has the one draw and should place.
R4: Interesting handicap - Meadow Magic duly won a graduation plate when he was weighted to do so - penalised 4 points and must have a chance to follow up - Winter's Song is a sand specialist, but may prefer 1000 - consider Mr Top, who ran on nicely last itme behind Furious Dancer over 1000 and on a line through FD could be competitive here.
R5: I think this lies between Cape Winter who ran on well last time over 1000 here and Marble Drum who also comes off a fair run behind Meadow Magic last time - Speed Keeper has the one draw and could place.
R6: Lots with chances - not a lot between Burmese Cat and Draw Bridge on their last run behind Calanish, who could be held by those two, Pimp My Ride has consistent sand form and should finish in front of King's Destiny over the 1600
R7: Very open fillies and mares handicap - Hen Party just won her latest, but at the weights could hold those she beat again - if you are looking for a roughie to make the P6 and JP pay - maybe include First to Finish, who has a chance on her best runs
R8: Causeway has won well over this trip and looks the right one here - Blue Concorde looks the main danger back over 1600 - lots of the others with chances have drawn very wide.

Play well

A very quick ‘value selections’ (on the same page as Frodo mainly) –

R1…The erratic Baker’s Dozen
R2…Zanzi
R3…The improving Ugly Betty could upset FtP
R4…Did not like the prices for Winter’s Song or MM, maybe Master B
R5…Kruger Gold and never mind the draw for this one.
R6…Calanish again
R7…National Danzig
R8…Zebulon from Causeway

Happy Horseplaying
