only in africa
13 years 5 months ago
My fathers car was stolen 2 weeks ago
no insurance as the 79 year old genius does not believe in it
myself and my sister stick some cash into a fund to buy the toppie a new car
he cant decide on what he wants so its now 14 days later and no replacement car bought
my sister is driving through booysens today and spots a familiar looking car next to her at traffic lights
she calls cops and proceeds to follow this car
there are 4 occupents in the car, mother , father and 2 kids
dirver drives car until police catch up and pull him over
my sister is also there and joins in the conversation
the driver produces a POLICE badge and says he is an honourable member of society and has had the vehicle for 1 year
they all go in convoy to booysens police station
tests are done and lo and behold
its the toppies car..........
the odds for this to have happened are astronomical
i have done the replacement money in cold blood as i am sure the toppie will be visiting carnival city to celebrate
the driver/policeman and his family got a taxi home
alls well that ends well

I am amazed how the police reacted to your sister's call....
Many decades ago, my then future sister-in-law had her car returned by the police in the early hours of the morning and she hadnt even known it was stolen...

I went to Grand West on Friday night @ about 8:30 pm. Got lucky as i pulled up,some one just left so I parked in the 1st row. Won some money, lost a lot more but got lekka gesuip. 6:00am Saturday morning i left, but when i got outside, no car,OH SHIT!
I panicked i could not believe it.Theres always Security gaurds around{ exept when you need them.}
Then that empty feeling gripped me and I felt like shit. I gotta go home now minus car and empty pockets too, gotta go to the bank to cancel my cards as well. I asked myself,,fokkit Johnnyboy, wat de donner het jy hier kom maak!!! Jy weet Vrydagaand
study jy form vir Saterdag se perde!
Anyhow, I turned around to go back inside to get some taxifare from a friend and disgusted with myself i looked back towards my empty parking bay...yes,EMPTY parking bay and I looked again, wiped out my eyes, blinked and looked AGAIN...and what do I see?
MY CAR!!! in the bay right behind where i THOUGHT i had parked!...I HAD REVERSED INTO THE P/BAY!!!
I was so relieved, I almost wet myself
As I walked towards it, i took out my keyes and laughed
.
WHY DID I NOT PRESS MY IMMOBILISER KEY?
DRINK sure make you DUMB
Thats why I was at G/W on Friday
