THE BENGAL TIGER DESERVES SOME MENTION FROM US?

AMICHAND RAJBANSI.... rest in peace!

Reviled, mocked and ridiculed by many, he must be admired for his tenacity & commitment for what he deemed 'minority rights', being specifically those of Indians. The 'rainbow' nation is now seen as a sop for puerile propaganda! Watch TV programmes on local events /activities /adverts; the total absence of Indians/Coloureds and the predominance of Africans and whites tells its own story!

On Christmas eve, I seen this poor Afrikaner couple with a young boy tagging behind them in Booysens. They were poor... their clothes, shoeless kid, and haggard looks told a story.

What irony that the Nats reduced this family to this level? Whilst the Afrikaner (white) elitists and politicians lived it up, they ensured laws that only allowed whites to perform as 'baas'. The result is, many stopped school between stds 3-6, ending up as bus/train drivers, conductors, 'inspectors', etc, with nary a trade or profession. That is an angle of the legacy of 'apartheid' which can be 'trouble-some' to many who are sitting on BEE deals!

Yes, Raj stood up for his people (whether they liked it or agreed or not with him!) and worked with those who would benefit his people.

On the other hand, where are the leaders of Coloureds, Afrikaners, Greek, Portuguese, etc?

The Coloureds / Khoisan and most whites have integrated into the DA. Or, rather, have moved away from the mass (sic ANC), seeing them as 'communists' (not preferred comrades for belief in God or church!), corrupt, inefficient, etc!

After touching (harping!) about our socio-politics, let's remind ourselves......

RAJ WAS THE ONLY POLITICIAN TO HAVE NOT ONLY SHOWN INTEREST IN THE HORSERACING INDUSTRY, BUT ALSO OWNED ONE OR TWO!

That cannot be said of our pseudo-politicians and enriched capitalists (black and white) who ramble about BEE, transformation, etc.... but distance themselves from putting their money where their mouth is; unless, of course, a frebee invite to the July or Met to gorge themselves with generous swipes of J&B!

:)-D
