Well done to Brett and his team. He has always had a good work ethic and I believe that Jackson will be a huge runner if they can supplement for the Derby.I spoke to Ian Longmore on course and seems like the July will be his mission.Very, very good horse this.
No need to rush when you have a good horse.

Brett is a gentleman, and obviously a mighty fine trainer. I'm sure Dennis Drier was disappointed not to win the Paddock Stakes, but he must have felt some pride at the achievement of his former pupil.(:D It took Brett a while to reassemble a yard in the post-Plattner era, but now he's firing on all cylinders.(tu)

He has a very good stable jockey, too. Despite the occasional indifferent ride, I think Karis is a terrific pilot.

Good man for racing, communicates well with his owners, may he go from strength to strength.......if Jackson gets a run in the derby going to be a hard horse to beat!

the met could be an easier race to win this year than the derby so i am hoping some trainers nominate their 3yos for the race ...its been done before and with igugu and dancewiththedevil having had their preps suffer setbacks and the 3yos finishing first and second in the queens plate also 3yo fillies in thunder dance and super elegant beating their elders in features the older generation could be hard pressed to beat the 3yos....imm sure jackson is a far better horse than his stablemate polar bound who beat a field of met hopefuls last wednesday...the great pity about our cramped racing calendar is we have these 2 great races on the same say and not a few weeks apart like the fillies and colts guineas which enabled princess victoria to run in both and the colt guineas and queens plate which enabled v.club and gimmethegreenlight to run in both....this is a major problem in the natal season where we changed from having like races for different sexes on different days to having them on the same day ...very very poor planning...

I believe the derby sponsors want the race on Met day.....obviously it's better to have it 3 weeks apart like in the past....but without sponsors we haven't got a big race!
