Maybe Tommy can also comment about the time. Not sure if I read it correctly, but I think it was around 55.4 secs.

Geez,is the surface sprung............lol
If that is true ,that blows Molly's theory of the yanks looking here for sprinters..........we don't get anywhere near those times.

Times are quick, especially on the turf in winter!! Going is pretty quick on top!

The field was not the greatest, but certainly not the blind school. Would wait for his next assignment but I do hope he makes it close to the Breeders Cup turf sprint!! Would be super exciting!

What did Lasix have to do with it? The winner of the Computerform Sprint can easily handle a $60,000 race in the USA, even after a 16 month layoff. Class alone would make him competitive, he doesn't need lasix. Watch the replay, how easily he did it once he saw daylight.

Btw it was a breathing problem that kept him out of racing in SA ... had to have 2 ops in the old end.

"“We’re very proud of him to run like that after such a long layoff,” said McLaughlin. “He had breathing problems and has since had surgery. It’s great to see what he can do when he can breathe.”

Nothing to do with Lasix.

Mav, the US was the only option for PJ to run cause he was a bleeder... So imo it has everything to do with Lasix...:)

He was also suspended from racing in SA with a strong possibility of being banned here because of his bleeding. They say lasix helps bleeders and the USA allows horses to run with lasix.
Thats my take on it...

He bled buckets and did not return to the winners enclosure, Geoff Woodruff said in an interview that he would propose to the owners that the horse is sent to the USA where it would be able to race on Lasix. I get the impression that many other local trainers Goodman Laff et al that are pro Lasix are using it during training and therefore become outspoken on the subject.
Bottom line it has yet to be proven as a prevention or cure for bleeding as in inderpendant trials in USA horses that were known bleeders that were on Lasix still bled and non bleeders were raced on Lasix too, because trainers knew it gives extra performance enhanchment and they did not want to be beaten by so called medicated bleeders.
