He has openly quipped that he cannot see why they don't allow Lasix here. Laff agreed with him on air, maybe playing Devil's Advocate but still very pro-Lasix

Did we ever get the full results of the Lasix trials that were held at the Vaal some years ago........they were supposed to provide some very strong evidence on a number of comparative issues.

OK, I was mistaken ... 'pologies! ... I read the American websites not the SA ones and they said not a word about bleeding, only that PJ had to have 2 wind ops.
The paper you are thinking about was published at www.rmtcnet.com/resources/Study-_JAVMA_Furosemide.pdf . Best to read it yourself and avoid the spin various "stakeholders" put on anything scientific ... depending on their personal interests.
Having said this, I am still as totally against the use of Lasix as ever. I don't care what Paul Lafferty says, or James Goodman. Allowing Lasix in SA would still be a move in the wrong direction. I was seriously chuffed when I read a little while back that the USA is phasing it out. And I'm relieved too that Dubai doesn't allow it ... so that we can rely on the results of their races to be real results ... of real horses running real races ... not the results of medication covering up problems.
Remember that Lasix doesn't cure anything, it just covers up the problem. How can a breeder trust the race record of any stallion or mare, or the buyer of yearlings either, when problems have been chemically covered up?

He ran a fast finishing 3rd after his jock absolutely butchered him coming into the final turn. I have never heard of him and likely after this run I hope I never do in the future
He should pick up a few on Lasix this fella!!!
