Looking to move overseas..Advice needed please:(

Hi Clan,

I know this is far off the Met excitement and horse racing and betting, etc, but I thought I'd give this a try.

As most of u know, I'm a youngster at 21 and am just starting out my life as a independent adult. I have a great job here in KZN and am happy with what I have, but I love money and love making money.. So I am seriously, seriously thinking about relocating overseas(immigration). Probably on a 2year working visa or something.

I would like to know if anyone can offer me advice as to how I can do this,etc..my main objection is to settle down overseas. I'm looking at London and Canada, but anyone's personal choices and experience will be much appreciated..

This is a big choice4 me and a scary one, but I need to do it..

I would love to get a job in the racing industry, but that might be a fairy tale story.lol

Please help,

Much appreciated

You can start off by understanding that 'emigration' is when you go out and 'immigartion' is when you come in! Lol.

I did the working holiday thing a few times! I worked in London for two years, I really enjoyed my first year. What an adventure. Lots to see and do. Then the novelty wore off and I became homesick. So I came home. After being back for a while an opportunity came up for me to work in Saudi Arabia. I took it, I was there for less than a year. The rules and laws of that country are extremely strict, I missed the how liberal our country was. I wanted to kiss the runway when I landed back from that job assignment. Then I was offered a job in Boston, USA. I worked there for two and a half years, and the pattern was the same. At first it was fun and a huge adventure, then the novelty wore off and I was homesick yet again. I realized then that I was a South African and my heart was home in South Africa. So I worked at a decent paying job for a few years and saved every cent I could. I strarted my own business in the land I love and I've never been happier. So, if I were you. Go overseas, earn bucket loads of money until the novelty wears off, then come home and start your own business.

I went to Israel when I was 22 and worked there for a while, and also twice to England later in life, and it's the memories that have stayed with me all my life. And it really grew me up, silly spoilt Sarth Efrican girlie that I was. Doesn't matter where you go, so long as you go!

At 21 you have time on your side and also can stand some hardship, so live as cheap as you can bear to, it's only temporary tell yourself. Then you can really pack away the cash. Maybe you'll stay there, maybe you'll come back, but a stash will give you a leg-up if you want to start up for yourself.

Give yourself an experience that will last a lifetime ... now when you are young and flexible. Make cash if you can but go for the experience and don't die wondering "What if ..."
