Fradd always seems to prefer another (this time Heavy Metal) over Pomodoro.
Delpech has chosen Governor General over Royal Ridge.
Recent impressive winners - E-Jet, Pomodoro, Royal Ridge.
Recent easy winner - Governor General.
Gelded since last start - Brooks-Club formerly an impressive winner.
Race lacks a sound pacemaker.
7/2 the field?

It's a fine race. Just don't ask me what is going to win it...

That would be my take on it. Plus Heavy Metal has raced recently while Pomodoro comes off a short break and no doubt is being aimed at the Gauteng Triple Crown and may be further behind in his prep than his stablemate.
It will be interesting to see how good Governor General is. I learned a long time ago not to get carried away by KZN off-season form, but it was hard not to like the way he won last time even if he beat frankly nothing, He is lightly raced and no doubt improving, but I've no clue whether he's in this league (yet) or not.

I think Fradd is on the right one from the Tarry yard - if one can believe the Computaform, HM ran into trouble 200m from home in the Cape Guineas (behind Variety Club) - at that stage only 2 lengths from the lead - last run too short and probably a prep for this - I think he will turn the tables on Americano and is underrated at 85. But I see he is now priced up as favorite - not sure the betting is correct - but a difficult race to price up I would think.
Governor General unexposed, so may easily be better than rated - if Delpech has indeed chosen him in preference, it does not say much about the chances of Royal Ridge, who looks held here by Tandragee - who in turn looks easily held by Pomodoro.
Jockey arrangements suggest E-Jet probably not ready for this race, but of at best must also have a chance on a line through Pomodoro
I really like Brook's Club, only 2.25 lengths behind Astro News giving AN 0.5 kg's and AN ran a brilliant race in the Met - also on a line through Whiteline Fever, puts BC not too far behind Silver Flyer - good draw, Striker rides - huge value at around 8/1 imo

I would have played Royal Ridge however the Delpech factor is a worry, GG may just be another MDK super GG?

hi all
just come out of Met therapy.congrats 2 connections of Igugu.
After Royal Ridge lost at odds on recently, seems unreliable.
Shocking how Heavy Metal lost last race. Will make amends here.
Trainer Woodruff has won this race a couple times in past.Anyone knows whats happend to his new sensation?Lockstar?thought this would have been an ideal race .
