The period between the end of the Cape Feature season and the arrival of the first winter rains in around May has always been the quietest, for as long as I can remember. It would require going against many years of history to get field sizes to average a dozen at this time of year especially, but good luck with that. More low rated handicaps would no doubt help boost field sizes, because this is a class of race that is always scarce in the Cape.
By the way, who decided to stop doing the draws after final accepteances in Cape Town and go back to the "normal" system?

phumelela will go good job in the cape wait and see. they are to run a business not the old boys clubs. this cape is so full of shit, they think they are the special ones like morinheo, but it is very clear they have the top few horse and then nothing.

Be careful with Herecomesthebride, that Bass horse Enchanting Cathy was punted heavily in its first run but failed to deliver in heavy going, today may be a different story...

From what I've heard, watch out for Herecomesthebride if she ever turns up on the sand.(

could be right greg.i think that horse cost 1.9million but i stand to be corrected.at the moment cape town is the only centre where the punter has a chance of winning if fav backers.other centres hv been a bit of a nightmare for the punters with some tough results and here i thought racing is a thinking mans game but its become more of a lotto of late in jhb, kimb and pe.lets hope the horses can run to form sooner rather than later in those centres.today i like v marshalls horse in 1st,kotzens horse in 3rd and brilliant cut in last to run a place at good odds.

Winzip, I'm not one for betting on 2 year old races but surely Countess Of Rhynie will be tough to beat in the first race, UNLESS one of the first timers is very good.... I think you may be sweating come the last race, toughest on the card imo... Good luck(tu)

On Met day Snaith sounded confident that this one was the better out his 2, then we got Snaithed with that ''shetland pony'' called President of Pop....(
