Not presenting on Saturday . Looks straight forward for followers of the favourites ( Scotia ).
Race 2 : Herecomesthebride to win. Value place Lookatmego back in Mdn company after two useful H/caps.
Race 3 : Lily Lafitte ready to win.
Race 4 : Bronco Buster will be hard to beat from a good gate and really good effort behind useful Palos Verdes.
Race 8: Falling Blossom to rival Savannah Leigh.

Not my ideal card with the small fields still the order of the day. Please trainers we need to fill fields before stakes and turnover will increase. P. E racing is a prime example of a concerted effort to put racing and it's future before self gain. We have the horse population and the owners want runners. No excuses !

Most complain that the programming has not been beneficial to the majority and only suits certain stables.
Apparently a new programming com. has been formed and a horse census has been done .eg. Juv colts / fillies , mdns, novices, MR 50-60/ 60-65 / and the rest. This is paramount in order to schedule races to assist the horse population and allow for larger fields. It will also curtail problems like recently experienced when horses contesting staying races run on a Saturday and the very next Wednesday a similar race is scheduled for the same type of horse. So what happens is that you have 8 runners on Sat and 8 on Wednesday instead of a big field on Saturday and another class of race catered for on the Wednesday enticing another big field. The new com. has been chosen with a good mix across the board . We have arguably the best horses , big numbers and top big trainers and passionate small (yard) trainers. This should be a recipe for success. Our pools are unacceptable week in and week out , and we all know that BIG POOLS attract. I am positive that we will see a difference over the next few months.

who is sponsoring this comm klawervlei and is yr fellow presenter heading it up?the disease you have in cape exists elsewhere and the same census shit has been done and fcukal gets done about it...its plain for everyone to see that the future of racing is for the big boys and the smaller trainers owners are getting pushed out the game...im sure plenty on here will welcome it ...

A programming committee . Not commission pirates so relax . Not sponsored, and owners and trainers and WPOTA chairman, well chosen representatives with the interest of racing at heart. Everyone knows that the margin for error is very small and that the mistakes of the past will be history. The emphasis on big fields is the criteria for all the provinces and you will see the difference over the next couple of months. Racing needs at least 12 runners per race every meeting , emphasis on at least. At least an action plan is in place and the feedback from the trainers I spoke to on Wednesday was positive. They are determining the future of their own industry or the demise thereof. It is as simple as that.

Once everything is in place I believe you will see an attempt at reaching the required amount of runners on a day needed, in order to be profitable.Take a look at tomorrow's card . Nine races averaging 9.5 runners per race , not good enough. Next weeks midweek card of eight races averages 9.8 runners also not good enough. Compare that with the nominations originally and it boggles the mind. It will change and we should all hope that it does.
Good punting .

its easy to get bigger fields neil you start catering for the lower grade horses a lot more often but do you want to comprimise quality with quantity ...we have been through this scenario in natal and gauteng ...yr lowest mr hcap tomorow is a 78 drop it to a 70 and you will have min 12 horse fields...then you will have the trainers with better horses moaning that you catering for mediocrity and blah blah blah yawn yawn yawn
