Someone came to Matthew and said that Craig fancied Zatopek. (Maybe this someone was the person from W.Form who called Craig for his comments, who knows ?). Matthew then read Craig's comments in W.Form. And what was Matthew supposed to do then , after having studied the previous form of Zatopek ? TIP IT TO LOSE ? What is your problem ?

I might remind you that Matthew did not have to listen to Craig's comments. He could have brassed the horse. So, again, I think that Matthew tipping the horse is a compliment to the Trainer, in that he rated the Trainer highly enough to go with him, not finding it necessary to question the Trainers integrity, by calling him to see if the truth was printed and that in itself is a compliment to Craig, whose achievement with a horse with a tendon and from a rest is what this thread should be about, as previously mentioned.

I still cannot work out what Matthew did wrong and I know what the Trainer did right.:S

Let me start this post by stating that I have never met Mathew Stevens and I have no financial interest in his activities, but I know enough about what he does to have great respect for his knowledge and form analysis.
He phoned me a little while ago about the thread.......he did not ask me to post a response ,nor did I tell him that I would, but I can understand why he would not come on and take a load of abuse.I hope that he won't mind me relating our chat but I think it is only fair to share his point of view.
My first question was the obvious one........".why don't you just use your analysis to make your money punting"..........his answer was " I am not a good punter"
Now that may not make sense to some, but I know that many of us can relate to that 100%.
Question 2 was" why do you tip similar perms, cost wise, for every meeting"..........His answer was that,on occasions when he believes the card does not suit a P6 for eg,subscribers will insist that he tips one.......they think that they are not getting their moneys worth..........I can relate to that issue too.
I have always compared punting to running a bakery.......... you need well researched selections(ingredients),the ability to structure bets(the recipe) and a suitable staking plan(good financial management). If either is missing you will be one of the 95%.(losers)
Whether you want to pay for the analysis is up to you,but to make a profit you will need to have good selections, but also need to understand value, structure, staking etc.
We all agree that Magic knows his stuff......but he doesn't punt?.....it's not against his religion and I'm sure he's not allergic to money.............the fact is that there is a vast difference between good selections and profitable punting.
I am not punting The Whisperer, but I certainly have a better understanding of his situation.

let me just say that when i started the thread there was no intention whatsoever to run matthew stevens out of town so to speak! i was just using an example of why NOT to use tipsters that charge a fortune for bets that the blind school can tip,btw nobody has answered my question of what his strike rate is ?if im asked to pay R700pm per centre i would expect some feedback

OK, Soodum, so you meant no harm.... but you have a very selective way of putting Matthew's service across. You selected NOT to add the following....

It is NOT R700 pm, it is R770 pm !
It is not for one centre, it is for ALL centres.
It is not for ONE bet a month, as in the WINNER which he dared to tip and is now in trouble for.
It is for 55 MEETINGS PER MONTH ! (forgot to mention that ??)
Various options and suggested percentage bets are advised.
The cost, then, per meeting is about R14. A bit cheaper than most formguides....

Not bad for the work required ! Hope your memory improves...

soodum..the blindschool must be rich if the can all tip winners..no matter what price...if you can back 7 out of ten 1/1 shots..you can make a healthy living as a punter..if its that easy why cant everyone do it

Ok guys Matthew is a good man, to break the ice and put the thread to bed, ABC suggest the following .

Can we ask Matthew to give us let's say 3 posts over the next 10 days? Just 3 selections to WIN only and we will put a grand on each of the 3 selections and donate any credit to the horse care unit.

I understand a bit pressure Matthew but it's for a good cause and you will be assured of max exposure and we wish you all the best if u are happy to go for it.

Dave

Louisg I wil have to buy you a case of beers tomorrow at the races when I get there for the old man. It is nice to see in this cut throat game that a trainer can compliment another on what he considers a good training feat. Thank you again Louis. As for Matthew he can use my comments in Winning Form with pleasure and I hope he with reading my comments helps the punters to win money. Winning Form and Hollywood have been very good to me but we will still use one to take the others money!

@ Justinv - spot on !
@ Soodum - let me try again....so little facts, so much to say....
1)Which part of R770 pm are you battling to grasp ?
2)Which part of ALL CENTRES is confusing you ?
3)It's NOT R700 PER CENTRE !!!!!!!! .......FFS !!!!!!
@ Dave - YOU dont like paying for tips and now you speak for ALL at ABC by laying out a challenge to Matthew, using the Horse Care Unit to achieve your purpose, so that your advertisers will see how "good" we all are and a potential competitor will look bad by not taking up the challenge. The end result can only be a loss for Matthew, eg
1) Should he take up the challenge, his subscribers will object (rightfully so), on the grounds that what they have paid for is now being given away for free.
2) Should he take up the challenge and not do well, he will be further slated, as a "bad Tipster" etc
3) Should his selections arrive, then ENTER THE SHINING HERO - non other than DAVE from ABC , who laid the challenge for Horse Care Unit !
4) Should he NOT take up the challenge, he will be taken to pieces, "shown up"

CLEVER BOY, DAVE ! He cant win, can he ? BUT MAYBE THE HORSE CARE UNIT CAN....

You were prepared to BET R1000 x 3 and give them the winnings. You were prepared to LOSE R3000. So, now seeing that Matthew cannot take up your challenge for obvious, common sense reasons and seeing that YOU brought Horse Care into this and seeing as there is a thread on the Horse Care Unit in E,Cape, why not donate same R3000 to them. That way they CANNOT LOSE !
