Just heard that I don't have to be working at some god-awful hour tonight - so can concentrate on a rather nice card at the Smelly T - thoughts:

R2: Juveniles - but surely any of Due and Payable or Soft Falling Rain could be used as a PA banker to start.
R3: Not much between World Record and The Club King and any of them could be used as another PA banker and both in the P6 - maybe King Scott is better than his last run and can be considered for the P6
R4: Quite a tricky race imo - Conna Mara Black can't crack a draw, but has an obvious chance imo, Striker sticks with Miesque Manor, Tiger Flo could improve from a nice draw, Flight Zone, Sweet Candy and Tiger Express all need to be considered - load up
R5: Progress Plate, but imo a few of these could still prove better than rated - Second Tycoon on his run to Unannounced looks the right one - but the draw could be a factor in a big field - all 3 favorites are drawn down the inside, so could be a wise move to include a few horses drawn towards the outside like Legal Action and Mining Prospect - the filly Silent Approach could also feature off a light weight
R6: Top division handicap - any of 6 can win imo - Magico, Mannequin, Deliver the Power, Waywest Goddess, Storm Vanidoso and Midnight Serenade - as posted earlier I think Waywest Goddess must go close if at her best
R7: Another open looking handicap - the consistent Radiant Rock a must for the PA, and the Ferraris coupling is a must for the P6 - Jet Legend won an Allowance Plate in KZN - not sure what he ran to, but clearly has a chance as well as Thandolwami who loves this trip; the filly Mystical Jet got 5 points for narrowly winning against her own sex last time and looks to have a tough task here (preparing face for that yellow stuff)
R8: Pocket Filler has been doing the opposite to my pocket recently - tries blinkers and this could be what he needs - or he could hate them under the lights and run unplaced - so I prefer Moon of Rangoon who looks to be crying out for this trip and has a good draw to boot - both Splke Lerena's runners (Blue Tooth and Royal Express) could make the trifecta and quarter pay

Enjoy (tu)

had a small tote bet on 1st race winner, purely from the owner perspective.
Unsure if i fluked this, but am sure Mr Snyman had a recent juvenile winner in CT with J Snaith.Horse was backed into reds that day.

Now for Magico.

Greg
They puled a coup on this winner.
They scratched the one that was strongly fancied and then backed the long shot.

What was the reason for the scratching?

Not the worst roughie imo - is 1 kg out at the weights off a 76 - but was an 84 6 months ago when running less than 2 lengths behind the very capable House of Wax over this trip - so you could be onto something

OR, I think the 1600 is too short for him to win - but should be included in the trifecta and quartet imo
