I ADMIT IT - I AM NOW DESPERATE

February 24th now cannot get here fast enough for me.

I am already imagining the scene : Rugby - my favourite betting medium - under the following conditions :

High definition viewing covering the full screen. No half or quarter screens. No uninformed idiots waffling away about nothing in particular or tipping scratched horses. No races being cut into with unfulfilled promises about recording them and showing us later. Events will now be priced up at 106% - 108% instead of the nonsensical 130%+ ( if we are lucky! ) that racing shoves down the throats of the unempowered and/or ignorant. No material issues relative to my wager that are denied to me either by accidental omission or deliberate commission. Bring it on.

No harness racing, no trotting races, no bolting horses, no malfunctioning stalls. I admit it - I'm now desperate for a P-R-O-P-E-R big bet on a medium that I can trust.

This summer seems to have been particularly tedious. Cape racing gave me the feeling that they compacted the entire season and the decent races into about 4 days. The rest was largely poorly contested rubbish in under populated fields. Gauteng and KwaZulu was an unending succession of bad racing and controversial incidents. Peppered with some mind warping form reversals. Now I love outsiders like few others on this site but I would need to find a good hashish supplier to dream up some of the results I have witnessed in these centres.

I know European weather was dire but the disappearance of all but Kempton, Lingfield, Wolverhampton & Southwell reminded me just how much I enjoy the jumps and how much more money I make out of them than any other horse wagering options. If you haven't woken up to the reality that they offer you more 'boat races' ( two horse races; back them both and stand in the queue to collect your profit ) than any other Tellytrack offerings then you clearly have the needle to your money. But then I forget - Tellytrack will do anything to deny you actually seeing these races.................

So roll on Super 15 and keep me entertained for up to 14 hours per weekend until early August. With a short Cheltenham interlude in mid March.

Garrick this must be the longest wait for quality Rugby we have had. Been counting down the days since getting back to work. My favorite betting medium as well. Only a week to go. Do you play fantasy league?

Garrick, your top 4? I know it's early days, but I don't think it will be an Aussie side again.

Cannot agree more. Used to be an avid racing follower/punter but have switched to rugga big time. Only play selected quertets. Used to spend hundreds of rands on Computaforms on a monthly basis but have become fed-up with pathetic service, non delivery, dubious tote pay-outs ( manipulation?). By having accounts with multiple bookies you can get very close to betting into a 100% market (rugby). My pick to win the S15? BLUES.

Just a question to the pro rugby punters, don't u think it's easier to win on rugby vs football?
The reason I say is that it's hard to score a goal in football and many 0-0 in games where the favs are 1/5 ?

In rugby the stronger team have many options to get points and the half time/ full time bets show a bit "value" sorry hate that word!

Dave I prefer Rugby as games are more predictable and there are only 2 realistic results especially at the handicap. Garrick I agree about sitting tight. It is better to watch and see the first few weeks who is in form and who isn't.

Ou Ryperd it is early to say who will perform but my Top 4 would be.
1) Blues
2) Reds
3) Stormers
4) Crusaders

It will be interesting to see how the Rugby 5 bet ( or whatever they call it ) might grow once Super 15 starts.

Am I being naive in assuming that they will have a dedicated Super 15 bet every weekend ? I am sure it would find favour.

shrek nothing in gambling is easy.iv bet on rugby and i enjoy watching a game especially wen i had a nice punt on game.wat i dont like is wen my team is ahead on handicap and they then take it easy in last 10min thus allowing opposition to beat the handicap.this has happened to me a few times wen i thought my bet was in the bag and boom a late try derails my bet.lol.im sure this has happened to many other punters so i will follow u experts this coming season and hopefully make a nice profit at rugby as i hv become disillusioned with sa racing in general.the results are just too unreal to be true.
