His franchise the Cape Cobras is playing 20/20 against the Highveld Lions at the Wanderers on Friday 24th (day/night game). I don't know if he'll be in the match ... isn't he flying back to SA on Thursday? He'll be quite jet-lagged on Friday.

Should have been picked in both squads from the start - but he hasn't, so from that point of view he should come home

The bidding is over. Seems no one had told them about Levi.

those that follow sa cricket will know that levi has never been good enough for the sa one day team, maybe this innings will help get a look in...the indian cricket sites are reporting that as much as $400 k has been offered for him, yes that innings will be life changing for him but it wont get him into the sa 1 day team for this series

Whatever happens in the final match (and the gates are due to crash open in less than an hour now!) Levi has already won the most important match of the 3-match series and levelled the scores for the Proteas. He's given them a chance at winning it, which they wouldn't have had if the second match had been lost.

That's heady stuff for anyone, especially a young man - to rescue the team and break all sorts of records in the process, all of it in front of world-wide TV coverage. Fortunately by all accounts he's got a level head on him and won't get carried away.

However, imho anyway, the selectors are right both for him and for the team, to say, "Thanks Levi, that will be all for now". He needs to know the rules won't be changed at a moment's notice. Likewise for the team - they have all trained very hard for the 1-dayers and need to know their effort won't be wasted just because one guy puts in one stellar performance.

Tough for the selectors, isn't it, having to steer a line between fairness/stability on one hand and picking the in-form man? Especially when somone suddenly flares up like a supernova, unexpected, dramatic, breaking several records, and getting huge publicity as a result.

I like the idea of innovation, and it is applaudable that Gary is trying new things, but what's with new no 3 each game.It is a pivotal position, especially in T20,so why not just bat AB there. The bloke is just about the best batsman in the world, why not let him bat as long as possible.
