A while ago I stumbled upon an American website called
www.horsehats.com
They have an Iphone Bet Calculator App which I use frequently to calculate bets from Exacta's to Pick 6's
They now have an online Handicap Calculator which asks a variety of questions such as the number of horses to run, the race distance, lengths behind in their last three starts, trainer/jockey winning percentages, career earnings from how many starts ect.
I filled in the questionaire using Race 2 at Turffontein tomorrow as the guinea pig.
Here is what the predicted order of finish is as per their handicapping tool:
4 Pure Silver
7 Dance Alley
8 Hot Moon Rising
1 Without Malice
2 Flirtation
3 Waley's Camp
5 Vivid
6 Elodie
The only question I couldn't answer correctly was the Speed Ratings of each horse in their previous 3 starts. I am unsure if America has a different sytem to ours re: the Speed Ratings starting with 0 for the top rated horse and then how lengths behind are predicted thereafter.
Where as Computaform likes , 1 + 2+6+7, Sporting Post likes 2+1+4+7 & Winning Form likes 6+1+2+4
So for the sake of fun I'm interested to see how Horse Hats compares tomorrow.

Not going to knock it, but imo these sort of systems would not stand up in plated races (like race 2 tomorrow) - could be an idea to try it out in a handicap?
