I am with Greg on this one, although RacingGuru has a point. If I am not convinced about the short priced favourite, I start by looking for smething to beat it... preferable three or four... then I brass the favourite. Well I spent a fair time going through that lot and came up BLANK. From my ramblings.....
"Race 4: Eeeeek ! Reminds me of Kimberley. Radetzsky’s Rebel and Air of Grandeur should fight it out but there are a few potential improvers. The two ex Cape Town horses Lundy’s Quest and Zenadine for instance; and of the two I prefer the former. I usually avoid Charly Roberts runners but this one had a warm up sprint, is drawn well and has the services of Richard Fourie ( I am not so sure that is a good thing). If Stan’s Bellman gets a run include this one in your bets."

The stable says he has improved quite a bit after his last start and gave us the green light for a bet. He is the best 2yo in the stable and will be hard to beat. To be honest, even with the weight turnaround in favour of others, I have to agree with Gavin. Some of the pricipal runners have had quite a few runs and how much natural improvement can there be with those.

Delpech was booked but then the Dbn meeting was moved. We waited to see what happened to the Dbn meeting and had Gavin Lerena on standby but he changed his mind when Gavin announced that Delpech would be his stable elect for the duration of the season.
S'manga Khumalo was then called in - in my book a very capable rider with whom I had great success.
