I am very proud of the extremely long hours, modern thinking and passion that my son Christopher is putting into the young achievers side of the day. He is not an employee of PGL, but is a contractor to them for the event. Being an achiever himself, he has had to sideline one or two projects whilst he puts time into this event. I note that he speaks highly of Clyde, Alfie, Shireen and team. They are all putting long hours in together.

Last year, they had a good turnout, in spite of the bad weather. Let's hope for good weather this year. They are building on their data base and the Annual growth of the event.

We need young people in Racing. They are working flat out. Let's support them !!

Louis I agree 100% I arranged a bus from Pretoria about 2 years ago and the kids had the time of their life, in addition my son won a share in the horse and so did a relation of Elvis/Barry on the site and trips to the stable etc, etc were planned and it totally died a death? And to be honest I am not sure if the horse also died? My son has no idea what happened. So I feel the follow up is just as important as the actual day.

Follow up is most important, I agree. From what I have seen during the last 12 months, this is very much the idea. Yes, before that, the shares in the horse thing died a slow death apparently. I may be wrong, but I think the horse was a RA / Peter Naidoo initiative. Anyway, as this thing moves forward, let's hope that they have all learned, progressed and improved.

I know that the first follow up being planned is a young achievers lady's night. The data base is now growing and being used for this follow up and future events.

Right now, as I write, Chris and his team are out promoting the event at Malls etc. Let's hope it all pays off !

Imo, this 'effort' has 'achieved' exactly nothing over the past few years - so should not be too difficult to improve on it ::o

the fun time that some of those kids had last year was in itself an achievement

With all due respect, if having 'fun' for a day is the soul objective of all the 'effort' (as per LG) that goes into this - then imo the 'effort' is mostly wasted
