Maybe if they look after their customers better the turnover will increase, to name a few places they can improve
start with your tote outlets, poor unfriendly service is the norm, poor communication with punters
Compare this with the service punters get at the casino's.
Furthermore they have too many racing the punter has only so much money, Is their any country out there where we cannot bet on?
Sorry i forgot we haven't had the chance to bet on Chinese racing but I am Sure they are working on something.
Very soon the punter will be able to bet 24/7 365 that will boost turnover.

to phumelela..and vee and co......get this straight...u have not widened your customer base 1 iota..so whether we race once a week...twice a week or 7 days a week in 20 centres..its the same money thats circulating..no new money...but i can tell u...what u are doing...u are burning out the punters....with all this crap of extra racing....i myself am getting so sick of watching racing...i decide..on some days...bugger this....and let it be on one of these kind of moods...i find something more stimulating...i will be totally lost to racing....give the guys a chance to rejuvenate them selves

if i was the horse racing trust i would sell my shares in P before they worth washers.

Use the money to contract a racing facility while randjies gets built. Still Slacks

Sign agreement with Checkers or Spar or even lotto outlets that allow bets to be placed on there systems instead of TAB.

Use Gold circle If required. Boot P, for what they do for racing is a joke.

If i were a franchisee and they the fanchisor i would have left a long time ago.

While at it either reconstitute RA and NHRA or replace with a single body that has one head and one tail. So one person accountable

approach top tv to do the TV COVERAGE.

And appoint the hottest marketing team out there to brand your sport.

@racing guru:

'...i will be totally lost to racing....'

Haven't had a bet or looked at the card for the past 3/4 days.

First time in 50-odd years!

Very unlikely that I am ever going to get back into punting. I now have much more time with family and, especially, the grandkids & am more focussed at work!

Yeah, I'm totally GATVOL too, have not had a punt since Sunday either.... going cold Turkey, these clowns are stale and racing is becoming predictable in that it will never change. Walk away Rene' .....a life time of passion and waisted talent .....rather give my money to gypsy's.....:S

Nice one Sly. Only change that I would make is to put the TV Coverage on a free to air platform. SABC has 3 semifunctional channels. Racing is a "national treasure" and should be treated as such. Therefore it should be on SABC (free) sans of all the betting, betting results and all of the other crap that makes Telllytrack an R18 channel and therefore not freely available to a wider audience.

Daily quick picks on the Pick6 available in each the lotto outlets sounds like big money to me!

@shezi:

'Racing will always survive,'

Huh?

Where's Goldfields racetrack (ever knew there was one?), Newmarket, Gosforth Park, Bloemfontein...?

Where are the hundreds of owners / breeders from days of yore who were in it for the love of it?

Why is turnover dwindling? etc......

To enter with such innate vulgarity into a sensible, informative discussion reflects on you; just like the operators!
