Not recently..........in the old days when "non -- whites were not allowed to be bookmakers.
They always paid out but did not lay bets in excess of R5000.00 from what I can remember. Also no tax.

in days gone by...the biggest take backs from licenced bookies were from bucket shops...especially in the days where the betting tax was around 12%....there are about 3 major bucket shops in durban....but i can tell u...at this moment in time...rather stick with the big 3 bookies..,,their prices are always better even after paying the tax..and everything is above board...and the punter is protected...the only snag is the facility that are given by the bucket shops...u can bet on credit....and trust me its easier to reason with a bookie when times are tough than these guys
