TAB MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: Dubai World Cup on Turffontein card
DATE: Tuesday 27 March 2012
RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Limited
THE Dubai World Cup, the last of nine races at Meydan this Saturday, has also been included as the final race (Race 12) on the Turffontein card.
This will enable horseplayers to take TAB all to come bets on the Turffontein races into the Dubai World Cup, in which champion trainer Mike de Kock will saddle Master of Hounds.
The Dubai World will also form the last leg of a second Jackpot at Turffontein. Jackpot 1 is on Races 5 to 8 as normal with Jackpot 2 on Races 9 to 12.
TAB will operate a Pick 6 on the Dubai World Cup race meeting. More than 50 tote hubs in some 15 countries will bet into the pool. Here are the details:
* Races 4 – 9 Meydan
* Pool must be won
* All 6 winners: 70% of pool
* Any 5 winners: 30% of pool
* If no outright winners, full pool shared by any 5 winners or, if necessary, any 4 winners, any 3 winners etc
* R1 unit, R6 minimum, NO fractional betting
* Couplings, first-timer rule do not apply

TAB customers can take an All To Come on any race meeting Monday through Friday this week (excluding France, Italy, Macau, Sweden and Turkey) and make the last selection either a Win or Place bet on a horse of their choice in the SA Classic.
For example a TAB customer can take an All To Come comprising a Win bet on Race 2 and a Place bet on Race 5 at the Vaal this Thursday with the third and final selection being a Win or Place bet on a runner in the SA Classic.

Private Racing Information (PRI), a new initiative launched by Phumelela Sports Betting Executive Vee Moodley, is proving a big hit with TAB customers.
PRI comprises a team of form experts who tip for TAB outlets exclusively. PRI tips are displayed in TABs on Tele-Data screens, which carry information like results and projected payouts. PRI’s recommendations for exotic bets like the Pick 6 are screened an hour before each race meeting and tips for individual races are shown 10 minutes before the off.
PRI started on 26 February and has quickly developed a following with a string of successful tips. Big wins so far include tipping the R32 380 Pick 6 payout at Turffontein on 17 March for R1 200.

how many of the tote punter can afford r1200? these guys have no idea what there cusomers look like. many years ago i buy info from john sweet for one month, every racemeeting he send plenty tips and exotic bets if i take all of them i am bancrupt in one week! one or two that do arrive but i cant afford to play all so it dont help me. i think the same example here.

Marketing spiel - imo none of the 'tipsters' can afford to publish their 'success rates' as it will show that punters are on a hiding to nothing - so highlight the wins and ignore the losses.
To be fair though, in the example, one could have taken 2% for R24 and collected almost R650 - not bad but that's the 'win' - may not look that impressive when compared to the 'losses' :S

I stand to be corrected but any tipster advertising his product will have to comply if you demand it... CPA Rules....(

I was not aware of that - I haven't really been paying attention, but the only 'tipster' who I have seen publishing their stats, is MIke Bass Racing - could be interesting to compare. It may not be clear cut though as some provide P6, JP and PA's other's only straight selections, etc.
