Well said Barry I'm sure that many racing purists would agree while many others encourage the competition which our industry is not large enough to handle at this point in time as we are not yet able to compete in the global markets.
Despite this The TBA did rather well under the circumstances and for the buyers finally a value sale.

Barry, the 62 (13.3%) not sold (as reflected in the statistics on the TBA site) does not include vendor buy-backs. There were another 32 of those.

so Tom, how was it for you - your first NYS! seem to be hearing some positive feedback. Has this equated back to turnover and getting on board fresh buyers?

The Byerley Turk
Unless something else pops up it seems to be mainly the descendents of Ahonoora who need to fly the flag for the Byerley. Notable descendents of Ahonoora are, amongst others, Dr Devious, Indian Ridge (our Indian Stride) and Inchinore (Notnowcato's offspring should have raced 2011).
Some famous names in the line are Herod, Diomed, The Tetrarch, Tourbilllon, Djebel, My Babu and Blakeney.
There are 12 Epsom Derby winners from the line.
The Godolphin
It seems that, and probably amongst others, Tiznow in the USA and Known Fact's son Warning in Europe need to keep throwing good ones in order to continue the line.
The line through Man 'O War seems to have had an impact in the USA - War Admiral, Hard Tack, Sea Biscuit. Another famous US racehorse from the Godolphin line is Silky Sullivan.

Thanks for all your support at the NYS guys and girls..
It was tough but we held our own - average prices showing a slight decline.
