Comfortably complacent

To all the those who believe that the local punter is treated to a world class product by the "establishment",either are oblivious or not being honest.
I bumped into my old racing mate,Patrick Maingard(Ricky's brother) at the Bullring yesterday, and he has just returned from Mauritius and he brought back their official publication(or version of Computerform) called RACETIME
It costs the equivelant of R10 and the content has to be seen to be believed........apart from the normal fields ,ratings speed figures etc etc. it is full of editorial information AND full details of all or any barrier trials AND full details of the back home work, including times, for every runner on the day.
It was a real eyeopener and together with their strong regulation,it is no wonder that they create such interest and passion amongst their punters!

Yeah Greg,I use the site, but over and above the fact that the trials and workouts are part of the requirements/regulations, they then monitor and supply the info, and they get it to the "people"(rich and poor) at an affordable price.........sounds like science fiction to SA punters!

! have been harping on this for ages and have more or less given up some years ago. Punters want INFORMATION. Not just any information but precisely the sort of stuff that this thread talks about. Please take note that Mauritius is not exactly some super advanced, super rich superpower.

as long as there are soccer six and soccer 10 pools which need no maintenance or require stake money . as long as there is the capacity to bet into other racing duristictions . Why would phumelea bother with the local product . its just not worth it for them .

How much does it cost to host a soccer 6 pool as opposed to a racemeeting from the vaal . Its a no brainer !

Solo, you are absolutely right and that is why the recommendation by the gambling commission that the racing product(operators) and betting (Saftote)should not be in the same hands.

On big race days here in the Countryside we don't get Computaforms. It seems to me they print the same amount of Computaforms, so what is happening the out lets on their way in the cities get more and by thee time they get to the Countryside they are finished and they then just pull up their shoulders and say sorry. so here you are on a big race day and no info, yes I can get Sporting Post but they don't give the info on which i base my selection.

I have tried to get PHML to fix the problem but I am sure by now you guys should know the answer.
