Positive news, step in the right direction. KZN has its own excellent Breeding industry to back its Racing and standalone efforts. They also have the country's most prestigeous race, imho. There is no reason why they should not succeed.
However, the sale of Clairwood will still bother me. It just has so much history, etc. It's where my late dad learnt to ride, along with so many legends of the game.
But, life moves on as times change. At least they are getting good money for the course, due to demand for the land. Ultimately, the last thing we need in Racing, is for KZN not to succeed. Let's take a leaf from Craig and Titch's book and see the positives.

Louis, you have no idea how much I would like to be positive about a passtime I enjoy so much but if something is being murdered it is dangerous to be positive about that and an example is the sale of assets, especially racecourses.
In Gauteng we got Vaal sand in return for Gosforth Park.We got Turf inside track(and a slight makeover) in return for Newmarket and the problems that have followed are well documented...........and yet we have another "great news" thread because PE is getting a Polytrack in return for an entire racecourse.
Is that positive or stupid?

Because 380 more horses are trained at Clairwood than Scottsville so therefore it is a home track race for them? Skywalk Luke got beaten at Scottsville but won at Clairwood but Scottsville weaker?

They could reintroduce the Quinpot. It was my faourite bet.
When my Pick Six banker lost in the first leg,I had another chance
Also lateley it must be 50/50 your odds-on fav {banker} will run second :X

2 things one your second line contradicts your first and secondly ask yr favourite jock regarding his comment...i must say well done to gc for putting stakes up 5 days before the vote for clairwood to be sold what great timing nah must be a coincidence:o

Generally he is right as many trainers have Clairwood as a home track and would rather run your better horses there as they have galloped there and dont need to travel to race. It is a huge advantage to Clairwood trainers to race there when they train there and also it is thought to be an easier track for a 1st timer. Wanted to announce the increase at the Champions Seasons launch.
