I really enjoyed the commentaries. Race 5 was very difficult finish.
i had money on the Scott horse so was watching it and having a spasm at the where the jock had him. the fact that he got up was amazing. Most commentators would not have called him.

eagle eye Craig Peters the best by far at the moment . He is very informative during comentary .
When he calls them past the line . You know thats how they finished .
And he more often than not gives the winning time after the call .
Keep it up Eagle eye you are aliving legend!

Just 2 re-iterate,Graemes use of language is not mono-toned as the callers in durban. As a racing enthusiast its nice to hear different verbs and adjectives during this particular time of the season.BIG HAWKEYE SUPPORTER and a friendly chappie too.

Eagle Eye picks the winner 300m from home, Clyde is superb in JHB.

We have been blessed with good commentators in SA, world class, much the same as the jocks

I really shouldn't be commenting on this thread as I am biased and think that Graeme is a great caller and he really loves calling a race. I have sat in the commentary box on many days and marvel at the fact that they can remember the colour of a cap and/or silks and link it to a name! We can all sit on the sidelines and comment but when you sit behind the microphone it becomes a totally different ball game. Ask Dave Mollett who tried one day and said 'Never again - this is not easy!'. Let's appreciate them and allow them all the odd mistake - we still have of the best around.

Debbie his commentary in the race with the Zebra was top class.
Seriously we are blessed with some of the best commentators you will find anywhere. Trevor Denman, one of our best exports, a truly great commentator. Graham, Clyde in Gauteng are brilliant and Alistor looks to be going the same way. Hawkeye is fantastic, you can picture the race exactly in your head without being able to watch the race. He also picks up horses running on and treading water very quickly. Sheldon has potential if he could focus on the race and not the horse he has backed.
Our commentators also put there necks on the line far more than I see overseas commentators by calling the winner in the tight finishes and they get it right more often than not. (tu)
