the show is called winning ways - Watching the 1923 derby, though nostalgic, has zero impact on the results in 2012 - Focus more on giving the punters form horses to follow( perhaps use FORM GRIDS as the basis to show line races to follow) -

terrible show, its cos they are they executive producers, its just stuff that they want to talk about..very irrelevant inserts and all this ''my buddy this and i know this one, great friend of mine'' etc is poor.
World Focus is on the right track though..100x better and more up to date.
TALK ABOUT RACING!!!!!!!

I did not enjoy the Rutherford / Goodman show on monday evening. It was boring and uninspiring. We should have a poll setup to determine which type of racing appeals to the masses. I personally won't be ticking cart and hurdle events.

Piss poor interviewing and i was also annoyed with the 7 minutes of Cricket talk..and what about ''i wanna let you in on a secret James, I LOVE HARNESS RACING.''
Laughable and now he is in charge of TT?? Sure he seemed to know a bit but an ex cricketer running Telly track is like Alex Ferguson taking over the MDK string, just because he is a good soccer manager.
''DSTV are really not interested in a second channel." Worrying comment that.

very poor interview from jg ,he was very poorly prepared for it and he concentrated on his cricket career instead of his media appointment...as far as kr answers go there will be zero difference to ch 232

Good evening guys and as normal a good show, with 3 to follow, blast for the past, current affairs etc and the guest was Ken Rutherford (Tellytrack) I felt the cricket was a bit long worded and boring, not being a fan and him being a harness fan a bit "scary" however he would appear to have a handle on the current problems re: tellytrack, second channel, quality racing etc and hope he can make some changes.

Must make a point of listening. Hopefully it won't be sandwiched in little scrips and scraps in between races from Rome or Turkey or wherever.

At the moment they don't generally cover evening racing from overseas on a Monday, so you should be able to watch it uninterrupted, but it is recorded on Mionday morning and I don't know if the postponed Clairwood meeting will have any effect on that. Racing will start early if it goes ahead, and race day mornings are a busy time for trainers without having to double up as TV hosts as well, but I'm sure Laff and Jimbo will maak 'n plan.

Yes sure for a "Good" "Laff"
I remember when I was on the show, the lads get ready from the boot of the car, go into the studio at Greyville racetrack at 10.00 Raymond Rogers and his crew turn on the switch for one hour, no take one or take two, you get what you see, no brief just ask questions no edit.
The tape is rushed to airport and sent to Joburg.................and that's what is shown at night, not sure what the plan is this week?

Scotia that sounds like fun ... I'd love to see some footage of what goes into a weekly racing doccie. It must be a wild and woolly scramble at times to get done in time. Maybe one day someone will film them filming ...

I used to like to watch, but recently imo the show has gone downhill - can't believe that people still send e-mails to them - any serious issues are just passed by flippantly with a shrug of the shoulders and the 'virtual horse' really took the cake - so certainly not worth it from me to catch the snippets between the UK fare; I may catch the replay tomorrow - if not I don't believe I'm missing out on much

Spot on Frodo.Because they are both trainers(and between a rock and a hard place)they can't rock the boat,no matter at how hard they try to pretend.
I believe they need to "outsource" the E-Mail (or complaints and suggestions)section to person/s who have the balls and are in a position to meet the issues head on,and refer them, whilst staying with the subject in order to feed back,to the necessary industry area, otherwise its just another puppet show.

These so called programmes on racing always seem to have hidden agendas, one can recall the notorious cricket interview on winning ways previously with Rutherford and now we are subjected to people plugging musicals FFS!!! When does the crap ever end, people want to watch horse racing related matters on these so called shows. Much like ''inside racing'' has become a advertising mouthpiece for certain people/ brand..
You never see this kind of mediocrity on Attheraces or racing uk thats for sure..
And while we are on the topic of winning ways, how comes the "blast from the past'' inserts are always races from just a year ago , there are never any of the old old races.. for example with the Cape Summer season coming up surely they could show some of the old Queens Plates from the 80's, Wolf Power, Spanish Pool and Bodrum etc, even some of Prince Florimunds races. and then go on to some of the Mets from the 70's/80's? Or are these films just lying gathering dust somewhere and they cant be bothered looking for them?
No proper research, no initiative and no good!! BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE.
the more things change the more they stays the same
