A mystery Tote customer cancels his R14.000 place-bet on Empress Club just before the “off” of the Fillies Guineas, which upsets the odds in the Tote-pool to such an extent that Empress Club (who is 1/8 favourite) ends up paying an incredible R5.80 for a place. Many cry “foul”, but after investigation the punter’s cancellation turns out to have been done in good faith. The punter changed his place bets to a win bet and trifecta’s, which resulted in a loss of some R2000.

these sattelite centres as i call them....are very easy to manipulate especially for races before 11 am....and races after 6 pm...

IN FRANCE THEY STILL BET LIKE WE DID IN THE OLD DAYS...OF HORSES COUPLED ON THE TOTE,,,SAME TRAINER HAS 2 OR MORE HORSES...THEN WHICHEVER WIN U WILL GET PAID OUT ON......

can't agree more....just an observation...bookies were offering 12/10 in france....horse paying R3.30 on tote...betting into r1.8 million rand pool...i agree if the whole lot goes into 1 pool....the odds will determine itself....and more so it will be correct..no false favourites

Totally upset myself! Took a pa and a win bet at newmarket and its still showing undecided on my account. This was yesterdays racing, when do they plan on updating?
