You're a bit confused mate, I only said Jackson is well weighted if the 116 is correct. I think we know what a handicap is and does,

It's the end of May.

GTGL 117
Variety Club 116
Jackson 116

The top end of the 3 yr old crop is either the greatest we have seen since the intro of MR or the handicappers have got it wrong.

Make up your own mind and act accordingly.

i think the main factor is that the 3yos took on the older horses in cape town this year..normally we dont see them in those races..in the queens plate they beat tales of bravey then 112 and bravura then 113..so they have to be higher than them..so even if their current ratings are too high..they still atleast 113 which still makes them higher than igugu/dynasty etc

...or the July winners of the past were better placed for a handicap like the July by not running at in WFA races against older horses before they ran in the July.

Gavin van Zyl said on TV that the July has changed so much. He said we will never see a horse do what Bush Telegraph did and come into the July with 49Kg. He's more than right. The fact that 3yo's run in the race receiving a few, or even giving a few kilos compared to an unbeaten multiple group 1 winning 3yo receiving 8 or 9 Kgs from older horses is unimaginable in modern racing.

Having said that, he still thought that the weight structure favours a 3yo, even though 3yo are carrying record weights now. So far the results have proved that the handicappers of old to be wrong as good 3yo continue to be in the betting and win despite ever increasing absolute weight.

He said the maximum that Jackson can carry is 57kg, although if Bravura, Pierre J and DancewtDevil do not run, Jackson as top weight 57 will go to 60, notwithstanding the cap.

"5. Notwithstanding 2 and 3 above, the Handicapper will raise all weights proportionately to 60kg. should the top
weight originally allotted be less than 60kg at final declaration."

Interestingly, horses that may be under sufferance will get no relief should this happen, as they all go up together.

justin in south africa the handicapper think that is his job. actually his job to to make all horse even not to make it get beaten. some times i think the handicapper think if a horse win he must stop it win again. that is a stupid and why this MR is such the fuckup
