Cape Town race 1 jockey switch

Stan Elley commented that declarations are done on a Monday so why did this switch occur at 9.10am on a Saturday morning ?

Good question Stan ?

Maybe to deceive the public ?

Just for the record I am pretty certain that Domeyer would not have won the race as it was only under a vigorous ride from start to finish that saw Faydherbe get the winner home.

It's a fact of life that many, many players will always be unaware of changes no matter what is done to publicize them.

It must be quite aweful for players who have played on printed infomation to find out subsequently that a frivolous, but material, change was made unknown to them.

The NHA should really only allow changes that are physically neccessary, rather than a change of mind or a
bureacratic slip up. The printed schedule should be as believale and reliable as is possible, and the NHA should guard that viciously.
