Another Fav of mine on the forum is
Loose - as in the horse is loose
Lose - the favourite will never lose
We often have the fav will never loose
Not really a place for english lessons. Half the crap I write when I reread, I mostly have to edit and fix and sometimes have to edit and fix again.

Bad spelling is as a result of mobile phone texting and has worked it's way into the naming of some horses as well.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Furtherest is not a word, in Primary School we learned the words are far, further, furthest. You cannot combine further and furthest to make furtherest. Clyde, although being a top commentator is one of the biggest culprit of this.

And never most furthest - its either most further or furthest.
Also very irritating when I hear people on the radio talking about "more better"..... Aaaaaaaargh.

I agree with you.
Getting back to horseracing and horse racing and similarly racecourse and race course, I think that both are right depending how it is used in a sentence.
"Racecourse" should be used after a proper noun such as Greyville Racecourse
The words "race course" must be separated in every other sense eg I love this race course.
Similarly, Horseracing Authority and ......I love horse racing.
There is no need to separate the words with a hyphen as the words are not separated by 2 vowels.
