Bookmakers pay Bendtner fine

Bookmakers Paddy Power will pay the 100,000 euros fine handed to Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner by UEFA.
Bendtner revealed the 'Paddy Power' logo across his green underpants as he lifted his shirt to celebrate scoring his country's equaliser in the Euro 2012 Group B match with Portugal.
Along with the fine, a one-match ban was given to the 24-year-old striker, which will rule him out of Denmark's opening 2014 World Cup qualifier unless he is successful in his appeal.
In retaliation to the UEFA punishment, the betting company issued a statement revealing that they will pay the fine for the Arsenal man, labelling the European governing body as 'hysterical and deeply cynical'.
A recent statement posted on Twitter by the company read: "Inspired by your Twitter feedback, we have agreed to pay the barmy €100k fine that #Uefa dished out (to) Nicklas Bendtner."
Amongst a number of tweets seemingly mocking UEFA, the company continued to express their feelings towards the organisation: "Nicklas Bendtner shouldn't suffer because of #Uefa's double standards, & penalised for wearing his lucky pants, which was just a bit of fun."
