Hi Pirates had a word with Hollywood and they only deduct up to 14/1, not sure what price the horse was or if bookies have different rules? But agree on principle to have any deduction and not alter the price of others makes it strange to hurt your early punters?

well hollywood should advertise the fact that they dont take a deduction on prices bigger than 14 to 1 as most punters will not know this

5% I believe is on 20/1 shots, some of these horses are paying R50 and more on the Tote but the Bookies price up 20/1 Bar, absolute scandal and as Pirates calls it daylight fcuking robbery

Hollywood are calling it right IMO, if a horse is 16/1 and upwards, there should be no deduction

What about the fact than when a horse is scratched, sometimes a reserve runner comes into the betting and we still have to pay a deduction ?

I.e - a 10/1 shot is scratched and a reserve runner comes into the betting at 5/1.
The punters have to pay a 10% deduction even though the scratching has been replaced with a horse shorter in the betting.

Surely that is an unfair rule ?
