Alain Perdrau has decided to terminate the contract binding him to South African jockey Brandon Morgenrood. The trainer confirmed the news this morning.

We recall that Brandon Morgenrood was absent for the 14th meeting, last Saturday, due to illness, and, that in 52 rides, he scored eight wins and finished second 11 second times.

No reason give, I'm sure there's more to this story?

Heard he declared himself to be sick then the night the trainer found him at the local club...thats the story doing the rounds...

Believe me on this one...ANYTHING involving Perdrau must be viewed 'differently'. I remember that back in the 90s he fired Craig Arnold after the guy had won three races at the previous meeting...

I am not on anyone's side here, but surely Brandon is trying to better himself and provide for his family. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't his girlfriend/wife/fiance just have a baby recently?
