Whiteline Fever
12 years 11 months ago
I am quite dumfounded how Vettel is 7/1 for the July and Whiteline Fever 25/1. In the Daily News Vettel had the run of the race setting the pace. Whiteline Fever got left 2l and was at the rear and ended up getting beat 0.75l by Vettel. He is now 0.5kgs better off and drawn 1. Why the price difference ?
Not that I think either will win !

I have not backed either horse, however i think the handicappers have got it spot on. If you take the DN 2000, all 3 horses carried 58.0kgs, Jackson beat Vettel by 3.75 lengths, and Vettel in turn finished 0.75 ahead of Whiteline Fever. In the July, Jackson carries 57.0kgs, Vettel (53.5kgs) and Whiteline Fever (53.0kgs), so on paper the latter should run close to Jackson and Vettel. Unfortunately we'll never know what would have happened had Whiteline Fever jumped on terms in the DN 2000. Bottom line, at 25/1, Whiteline Fever must be good value.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Harris one word "Marcus". If the jockey arrangements were switched the prices would have looked very different. I fancy WLF at 5/1 a top 4 if he gets away on terms from the 1 draw if he doesn't he will be shuffled towards the back of the field.

not too happy with the jockey engagement. His morale must be low this season (wonder why he dosnt ride for the GVZ stable anymore?)Last season going into July,is riding was top draw, finishing 4th.
Last punt i had on horse he rode, was Hotlines filly at clairwood.
So my enthusiasm has waned since last post on WF
Will have a small punt on his ride in r3 today.
