Titch, no. This discussion has been had before. Other countries have timed gallops and transparency is seen as being vital to retaining punters.
Ask yourself this question. When you have a line up of first timers how the hell must one thumbsuck a rational guess at the outcome. The trainers and jocks and those they let know have that info, the punter must hazard a guess.
Sorry but my money is not wagered on someone else's poker game. Its absurd we lay one cent on horse racing.
And this elitist insider Mafia continues unabated. And they openly remain secretive and possesive about information, that in todays age needs to be public knowledge in order to retain the thinking punter.
Good luck to them.

maybe you misunderstood my question , I was asking if you believe that transparency HAS COME ON IN LEAPS AND BOUNDS in the last 20 years not what you believe is still needed....so let me answer it for you, it is quite simple YES!!

Well please give your reasons for this simple yes. Inform us. It could well be worth the mentioning.
However from the perspective of a punter you have my opinion and I think this reflects my opinion of the current state of affairs. How far it has come is not really relevent to me. It is what bang I get for my buck.

once you feel that progress is not relevent then it is apparent that even when timed gallops become a reality then the complaint will be that the horses that dont perform in accordance to the work were pulled up in the gallop...if we want to complain then finding fault and ignoring any positives is easy....all the runners in the July were galloped and timed in public, did it shed any light on their chances in the race ???

Bottom line is the customer is ALWAYS right. Ignore him at your peril. I don't care how far you have come, the question is do you have the market captivated. Clearly not! So keep peddling cause no customer is drawn from static thinking.
More info equals more punters. We don't all have middle partings and watch Grease and smoke. 1980's racing belongs in that era. Now us punters are wise a$$es.
